Well, well. Those of you who observed/engaged in last weekend's drama are probably happy it's all quieted down. I know I am. And it does feel a bit more settled now.

The Lost Month
Online communities are wonderful things, sometimes. They can provide support and friendship and connections between people all over the world. But they are not always friendly places. And in particular, it is very difficult to lead, administer or moderate large communities. I think it is a place were people can burn out, be horribly stressed and feel even more alone.

When people have disagreements on the Internet, those disagreements can escalate rapidly, be quite vicious and stay around for a while. Because the Internet is at our disposal 24/7, those same words are constantly accessible.
